October, 2002

Greetings:

Thank you for your continued patronage. Our business has continued to increase because of you, our valued friends and customers.

The warm weather this fall has kept lawnmower sales brisk, but winter is just around the corner. Snowblowers and generators are selling well.

As we are writing this letter the West Coast ports have reopened. However, both Kubota and Honda are experiencing some delays. Kubota expects new tractors to be a month behind schedule. Honda already has some backorders on snowblowers and generators. If you need something for this winter we recommend shopping early to avoid delays.

FALL CLEANUP

After an exceptionally warm start to fall the leaves are still hanging on. When they do fall we have leaf vacuums, walk behind blowers and truck loaders from Billygoat to help get them off the lawn. We also have handheld and backpack blowers from Echo. Don't forget, we can put a bagger on your mower to help pick up leaves. Walker Mowers are also very good at picking up leaves and they will make your lawn look great next summer.

NEW HOLLAND

New Holland is again offering their Value Bonanza program. TN series tractors, hay tools and skid steer loaders qualify 36 month 0.0% financing or cash back. Hurry and take advantage of these savings, this offer is good until November 15, 2002.

KUBOTA

We have had another successful summer selling Kubota tractors. To help finish off the year we are offering specials on overstocked models, up to $2000.00 on some tractors. Shop early for the best selection, the supply is limited. Please call or stop by for more information on these specials.

We have received Kubota Generators. We have 5500 and 6500 watt gasoline generators set up and ready to go. We also have 6500 watt and 12.5 KW diesel generators in stock. All of these units are priced attractively.

HONDA

Generators are selling rapidly this fall. More and more people are realizing that Mother Nature will interrupt their lives as she pleases, and they are preparing. For the moment supplies of generators are good, but the West Coast has shipping problems are beginning to affect some of the more popular units.

Honda Snowblowers and Generators are eligible for No Payment and No Interest for 12 months. This program is good from until November 30, 2002. We have a full line up of snowblowers in stock and ready to go with a two-year warranty. As always our generators are set up, full of fuel, fully tested and ready to work. This is a great opportunity to prepare before Mother Nature brings back winter weather.

Stop by and visit with the experts who can help you choose the proper size generator. We have been mid-coast Maine's #1 generator source since 1991.

IMPLEMENTS

Union Farm Equipment, Inc. has one of the largest selections of "ready to work" implements in the state and we discount the implements to help you save. We are well stocked with most common implements. Rock rakes, rototillers, blades, rotary cutters, backhoes, chippers, pallet forks, post hole diggers, and more are in stock and ready to go.

To help with winter, we stock front blades and tractor cabs from Curtis. We have a full selection of front and rear snowblowers to turn your tractor into a four-season machine.

PARTS AND SERVICE

With winter coming, now is the time to get ready. Antifreeze, batteries, filters and lubricants should be checked. Most manufacturers recommend changing antifreeze every two years. Batteries should be fully charged before winter storage. Now is a good time to change engine and transmission oils before putting your equipment up for the winter. One overlooked task is to fill the tank with fuel and add stabilizer and drain the carburetor to prevent storage problems next spring.

If you are planning to use you tractor this winter, we still recommend getting it ready. We have a full line of off-road batteries designed for tractors. These batteries are vibration isolated with extra heavy casings. Remember its what's inside the battery that counts. We are also well stocked with tire chains to help you gain traction this winter.

Be sure to get the snowblower and generator out and serviced so they are ready when the time comes. It is far better to check them now and get them serviced than to struggle in the first storm.

We are happy to send our mobile service unit out to help get your equipment ready for the upcoming winter. Please call Wendell for a quote.
