Thank you for your continued patronage. It is because of you, our customers and friends that we are here. As spring arrives we are anticipating a busy year. All signs point towards another great year in Union. The interest rates are low (0.00% for 36 months) and interest in new equipment is high. We have some concern about rising prices of equipment.

We are striving to have "Big Store Prices and Small Store Service". Our pricing is always competitive with the Big Box Stores and all of our equipment is set up, full of fuel and oil, tested and ready to work. We offer free delivery on many items. And, of course, Union Farm Equipment's legendary service team backs all of the products we sell.

However, there are a few worldwide events to take note of. The price of steel and the cost of oil have seen several dramatic price increases. The US dollar is weak in relation to the Euro and the Yen. All of these events are leading to price increases. Many of the European products have already experienced a 20% price increase due to the exchange rates.

Many of the spring products are price protected for now. Any product we reorder is subject to a 5-10% price increase. If you are contemplating a new piece of equipment it is likely to cost more by fall or by next spring than it does now. We are advising everyone to purchase as soon as feasible to avoid the coming price increases. With interest rates as low as 0.00% for 36 months, a low price, a great selection and friendly service, now is the time to invest in a new tractor or implement.

SERVICE

TRACTORS

"The Friendly Folks" at Union Farm Equipment have always tried to add value to your purchases. All of our tractors come with a full tank of fuel and are ready to work. We were the first to offer block heaters, bucket hooks and rear work lights as standard equipment. We were the first to offer a 50-hour service package as part of the purchase. We were the first in Maine to offer tires loaded with Rim Guard (a non-corrosive fluid) instead of calcium chloride. We offer free delivery and we offer free transportation for warranty work within our local trade area.

RTV

If you have not heard by now, Kubota has entered the utility vehicle market this spring. The RTV900 is a 4-wheel drive, diesel powered vehicle that carries two people and cargo. This is the first vehicle of its type to feature a three-range hydrostatic transmission, power steering, independent suspension and differential lock. These vehicles are ideal for landowners to do chores around the property and can be equipped with a variety of accessories. Right now supplies are limited but we have over a dozen on order. We have a demonstrator here, please come test it out.

PUG

These Cargo All Terrain Vehicles are the perfect antidote to "Mud Season". When the tractor is rutting up the fields doing chores and the pick up can't cross the yard a PUG will leave very little impact so you can continue to get the chores done. These vehicles are very popular on farms to help feed the livestock, repair fences or to clean stables. They are a great way to transport firewood without sinking deeply into the mud. Of course, they are a fun way to cruise the property and can even be used to haul that big buck out in November. Right now we have specials on a couple of leftover units. Be sure to come test drive a PUG and find out how much easier your chores can be.

IMPLEMENTS

We have been a Woods and LandPride dealer for over 15 years. Woods and LandPride are two of the largest implement manufacturers in this country. Between these two companies we sold in excess of 100 rotary cutters and in excess of 100 landscape rakes last year.

Our yard is full of implements to help get your chores done faster and easier. We ordered a lot of implements this winter to beat the price increases. We intend to keep our prices down as long as possible, but if you are in need of implements we recommend shopping early to avoid the price increase.

We have landscape rakes, rear blades and box blades to help fix the driveway or smooth the lawn. We have a great selection of rotary tillers to put in the garden. Chippers, backhoes, rotary cutters, finish mowers, posthole diggers, manure spreaders, and more are all in stock and ready to work. Our goal is to have the tools you need to make your tractor more useful.

PARTS

April is the time to get ready for next winter. Be sure to call our parts department for savings on left over tire chains. All leftover chains are 10% off last years price. If the steel prices continue to increase there may never be a better time to purchase tire chains.

TORO

Toro's popular steel deck walk-behind mowers are competitively priced and feature a three-year warranty if purchased before June 1, 2004. Toro offers the Personal Pace self propelled system on many mowers. Personal Pace allows the mower to go at your speed, not at some preset speed. Additionally, when you stop walking the Personal Pace disengages and the mower stops. When you back up the mower free wheels.

Toro has realized that the lawn and garden tractor is an inefficient way to mow grass. Several years ago they introduced the Time Cutter Z for residential use.
