2008 was definitely a difficult year. In spite of the economic malaise we were able to sell more Kubotas than the previous year and we were able to remain a level 5 Woods dealer a Presidents Program LandPride dealer, reflecting the largest volume levels for each of these companies. Both of these distinctions are unique in Maine and provide us with greater savings, than a smaller dealer, which we pass along to our customers.

While our pricing is definitely competitive, our goal is to make certain you get value. Our new tractors come with free delivery and warranty transportation in our trade area. All of our new tractors have a block heater, bucket hook and rear work light as standard equipment. We load tires with Rim Guard at our internal cost. All of our new tractors include a 50 hour service package- typically we will perform the service at no charge within 50 miles. The customer is responsible for the fluids and filters. All new equipment is set up, full of fuel and ready to work.

Perhaps an even larger value is the knowledge of our personnel. Many of our staff have over 10 years tenure. We have the knowledge to help you select the right equipment and keep it working well for years to come. We have over $200,000.00 in parts inventory and factory trained technicians who can fix it right the first time.

FINANCING
Contrary to the news reports, we are having no problems securing financing for people with good credit. New Holland and Kubota are offering 0.00% financing on many new models. We can also finance used equipment for as low as 6% through Camden National Bank.

SECURITY
Those of us who have spent their lives in Maine are often lax when it comes to theft prevention; we leave the keys in the truck, don't lock our doors and leave our equipment on the trailer ready for the next job. Nationwide equipment theft is becoming more prevalent. It is only a matter of time before it increases in this area. Years ago, Union Farm Equipment, Inc. installed security cameras, AFTER three rototillers were stolen from our front porch. Are you taking steps to keep people honest? Only you can ensure the security of your equipment. Keeping equipment locked and in a well-lit area is your best insurance.

Now is a good time to inventory your equipment. Keeping a list of make, model and serial numbers will help if the police find your equipment. Engraving a name or number in a hidden location on the equipment is also a good idea.

SERVICE
Through March 15, 2009 we are running two programs, Winterfix and the Commercial Care Partnership Program. Both of these programs have been successful in past years. Winterfix is designed to help keep our shop busy in the off-season. We will reduce the bill on any repair over $500.00 by 10%.

We instituted the Commercial Care Partnership Program several years ago to help our lawn care professionals keep their mowing equipment in top condition. For a flat rate we will perform an inspection and service. If there are any additional repairs needed we will contact the owner. Provided the machine is brought up to snuff, we will offer a free loaner machine if we are unable to repair your machine within 24 hours during the next mowing season.
