Do I want an Industrial Tractor? Do I want an Industrial Tractor? Kubota currently offers three industrial tractors, the B26, L39 and L48. These tractors have greater lift capacity, greater hydraulic flow and bigger backhoes than their Agricultural counterparts. The industrial tractors have a reinforced chassis with ROPS/FOPS. On the downside the industrial tractors typically have less PTO horsepower than an equivalent agricultural tractor. What is your primary use of the tractor? Will you need a backhoe every time you drive the tractor? Is the backhoe only for occasional use? While the primary market for the industrial tractors is a commercial user, we have sold many industrial tractors to homeowners. Homeowners find the single seat easier than an add-on backhoe with two seats. They also appreciate the increased performance of the loader and backhoe. Pricing is another issue. The industrial tractors are more expensive than an agricultural tractor with an aftermarket backhoe. The aftermarket backhoes do a very good job, even if the backhoe is going to be used more than occasionally. If loader and backhoe performance is your primary concern the industrial tractor may be the better choice. If PTO horsepower and price are more important than backhoe performance the agricultural tractor may be a better choice. |
